Meet Our Team

Erini Tokarua

Program Manager

Erini is a champion for People Living with Rheumatic Heart Disease (PLWRHD) in Fiji. Her passion and drive to advocate and empower PLWRHD was sparked when her eldest son Walter, was diagnosed with RHD 10 years ago.  She became the first to volunteer for the Fiji RHD programme in running support group sessions for families of PLWRHD and awareness sessions in local communities. Having a lived-experience, a good understanding of the disease and driven by passion, she is currently spearheading the establishment of a civil society organization to be run by people living with RHD focusing more on patient advocacy and community education.

Marika Yalimaiwai

Administrative Assistant

Marika joins us from a community development background. His role is to support the Program Manager in delivering her duties and fulfilling the mission of the organisation. Together with the program manager, they will help forge relationships with stakeholders and partners, engage with our patient community and spearhead the work of facilitating knowledge management sessions across Fiji’s communities. As a person living with RHD, Marika’s support of the team means that the organisation remains relevant in its mission to address ARF and RHD matters in Fiji.
